Mock photographs

These are my mock photographs for my magazine. I may decide to use some of these pictures for my actual magazine.

Double page mock ups.

These are two of my mock up for my double page spread. I think that by not overloading them with pictures of text will be effective. Also less can mean more, by using one big picture and then text can be very bold and making a statement.

Contents analysis 2.

This is my second contents analysis. I think that this is a very effective contents page because it is simple and not busy.

Contents Mock Up 2.

This is my second mock up of my contents page. It is still simple but can be effective with the right image and colour scheme again. I think that a contents page should not be very busy because it is only used to see page references, sometimes in some magazines i researched the page references where not clear which made it hard to use.

Contents Mock Up.

This is my first Mock up for my contents page. I think that it is simple and could be effective with the right colour scheme and maybe a pattern on the background.

Mock up of front cover 2.

This is another mock up for a front cover which i could use. I thought the best solution to decide how to present my front cover would be to do a couple of mock ups and then chose the best.

Mock up of Front cover.

This is a rough mock up for my own magazine front cover. I have looked at a variety of different magazines, including different genres. I think this cover is simple but then has enough information on it to be eye-catching.

Front cover analysis 3

This is a front cover from "Vibe" magazine. It's audience is mainly female but it does try to appeal to a male audience as well with the "sexual" images. The target age would be teenagers and young adults.

Double page spread analysis 2

This is a magazine article from "Radar" this is an indie band so it is not my chosen genre but i thought i could analyse different types of genre to get a wider range of knowledge and ideas. This magazine is aimed at teenagers and young adults, mainly male. The colour scheme is white, blue and black, these colours would suggestively represent boys. I would see the blue on the page being associated with the teenage band which the article is about. There is no colours that relate to girls on this page which would also suggest that the article is represented to males. There is one picture used which covers an entire page of the spread, this is effective because instead of having lots of small pictures it seems to make a statement by having one main picture. The article is very busy with puffs telling us different facts and information about the band, which is effective rather than putting it all into the one big block of writing the writers have broke sections of it off and spread it across the page. The edges of the puffs on these pages are scruffy and looked like they have been ripped, this could be associated with a teenage boy life and also the picture is very busy, looking like a "normal" teenage boys room. This double page spread is very stereotypical with an average teenage boys life.
